Taylor Farms shredded lettuce tied to a Taco Bell cyclospora outbreak

The CDC and FDA have linked shredded iceberg lettuce served at some Taco Bell restaurants to a Cyclospora outbreak. FDA's traceback names Taylor Farms as the supplier of that shredded lettuce, traced to a single grower in central Mexico. On July 17 Taylor Farms said it is voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico.

This is the blind spot this site is about: the headline is "Taco Bell," but the packer — Taylor Farms — is only visible because investigators named it. Two things to keep straight. This is a voluntary removal, not a formal FDA recall — Taylor Farms' own recall page lists none. And the company says none of its branded retail salads or kits are affected; its salad kits don't contain iceberg lettuce. This event won't appear in the table below, which is built from terminated FDA enforcement records and lags live events by months.
